£5million campaign to fund developments in Science and Sport at Benenden

We are delighted to launch the Trust's campaign to fund new Science and Sports facilities at Benenden.  Benenden's Athens Olympian, Georgie Harland, helped to launch the campaign at the Leading the Field Ball at Madame Tussauds on Saturday 8 November 2008.  Georgie was joined on stage by her fellow Senior, Consuelo Brooke, who spoke about the Science campaign.

Science at Benenden: expand Science facilities

Science at Benenden has never been stronger: over the last five years more Benenden girls than ever before have pursued the sciences at AS and A level.  This demand runs contrary to national trends, and has quite simply caused Benenden's Science department to run out of space.  Plans are being prepared to meet the demands of Benenden's young scientists by creating new or expanded facilities for Science.

Sport at Benenden: increasing access and participation in sport

Benenden continues to excel in a growing number of sports.  Teams have been competing with success at the highest levels in a range of sports from lacrosse to netball to tennis and rugby.  In the future Benenden will continue to aim for national success, but will also be seeking to increase the numbers and range of teams that it can field, so giving more Benenden girls of all abilities the opportunity to represent the School.  To help achieve this Benenden plans to build new facilities to expand team sport at Benenden.

The highly successful new stage campaign provided Benenden with some much improved facilities across the board and, of course, a magnificent new School Theatre.  We now look to build upon this success, with some ambitious targets to further improve the all-round education offering still further.
