Leading the Field

The ‘Benenden Angels’ are individuals who have indicated their wish to leave a legacy in support of Benenden. Through their bequests, they will help shape and support Benenden’s future.

The School greatly values the support of its ‘Benenden Angels’ and hopes they will stay closely in touch with the School. ‘Benenden Angels’ will play a very special role in helping to assume Benenden’s place as one of the world’s leading girls’ schools.

For more information about leaving a legacy to Benenden, please contact: Debra Price, The Benenden School Trust, Cranbrook, Kent TN17 4AA. Telephone: 01580 240592 or email dp@benenden.kent.sch.uk

When Miss Clarke died she left the bulk of her Estate in support of Benenden.  Her remarkable legacy has already helped to fund major building projects - The Clarke Study Centre, and Benenden's new theatre and drama teaching complex.
A legacy gift could help Benenden by:
  • funding a free place for a girl from a local primary school who otherwise could not consider a Benenden education
  • helping to create an endowment fund to support 'free' places in perpetuity
  • helping Benenden offer more bursaries
  • improving academic facilities
  • helping to provide extra-curricular facilities and resources to help create the broadest possible experience for Benenden girls.

Legacy Giving

  • Legacies are tax-free:
All legacies left to charity are excluded from your Estate for inheritance tax purposes and are therefore given to the Trust free of all tax.
  • Gifts in your Will can be:
Money, stocks and shares, property, valuables or other assets.
  • Your Will can easily be changed to include the Trust:
An existing Will can be amended by adding a codicil, a simple supplement to your Will.
  • Independent advice:
We suggest you discuss with your financial adviser the benefits of making a legacy to the Trust.
